As part of a multi-event deal with SFX Entertainment, Event Intelligence Group is providing surveillance and intelligence services to the first production of Rock in Rio in the US.
Along with a wireless full-HD surveillance system, EIG is also providing video analytics specifically designed to count patrons entering and exiting the site. With a single camera wirelessly connected to the server, EIG is able to count a 80′ wide entrance portal with 95% accuracy. This provides the command center with a real-time accounting of guest flow at the main gate.
MGM Resorts has transformed 33 acres of Las Vegas real estate into the City of Rock. The permanent open-air concert venue is located on The Strip near the corner of Sahara Avenue and has the capacity for 80,000 people per day. The design and layout is signature Rock in Rio, complete with five stages; themed streets boasting the sights, sounds, and foods of Brazil, the U.S. and the United Kingdom; rides including a zipline across the main stage audience; and other activities.
Security and safety of the patrons is the primary responsibility for Rock in Rio. EIG surveillance and intelligence technology enables situational awareness on a site-wide level, and EIG analytics provide on-site insight into what’s happening at a given moment.
